Review of Ward B6 written by a carer
25th August 2018

I am writing as a neighbour, sometime carer and friend of my neighbour Pamela Dudley aged 90 years. The Staff, initially in A & E, then ATC and finally on B6 were so kind and treated her with respect, did their best to make her comfortable and ease her pain. Kept us informed the whole time, Pamela did not have any living relatives. At the end they were their to help us in our grief. Well done to to all the Staff and Thank you for being so caring.

Review of Day Surgery (BDGH) written by a patient
5th July 2018

A massive thank you to all the staff on the day surgery ward. Very welcoming and very caring. Always checking on you, checking You are alright and whether you need anything. Very chatty staff made you feel at ease from the moment you arrived. You knew what was happening every step of my time on the ward. Nothing was too much trouble from the nurse in charge through to the healthcare worker serving drinks and food. Thank you very much for making my stay a very comfortable one.

Thank you to Liz Mableson and the dr who I'm afraid did not get his name in A&E who looked after my son who fractured his arm. They were kind, efficient and professional. You work very hard and it's appreciated.

I was on c1 for a week and was looked after very well. The staff did all they could to keep me comfortable. The Doctor came round daily and kept me informed about my treatment. The nurses were very caring and did their best to keep me cheerful. The domestic staff worked very hard to keep the ward clean and serve my meals and drinks with a smile Sending a massive thank you to everyone

Helpful and friendly staff , keep clean and tidy . Only thing they didn’t drain my drain, which stopped me going home , had to wait another 7 hrs to see if my drain had stopped before being discharged.

I and my family were extremely impressed by the care I received from the moment I was admitted as an emergency, to the time I was discharged. I would like to say that the staff in A and E were brilliant, their skill and efficiency saved my life for which I will be eternally grateful.

Review of Ward A2 written by a patient
25th February 2018

Little support after birth, I was left to it with very little support, fortunately it was my second child so I felt okay with this and knew what I was doing, however, no-one came to check we were getting on okay/ Baby was feeding well etc. There was no breast pump equipment readily available, and I felt the staff were too busy to ask, so I formula fed (as planned) and expressed a little when I got home later that day. I was also moved from labour ward at 4am after waiting all night, and was moved into an empty bay which appeared to have been empty a long while. I was asked to pack and carry my own bags- I packed earlier in the night pre-empting the move at any time, and fortunately they fit under the Baby crib unit to be wheeled to the ward instead of me having to carry everything. The ward was very busy however the midwife knew I was keen to go home and worked quickly to organise a safe discharge. The hearing screening and paediatrician checks were also done promptly to allow for this.

Review of Labour Ward (BDGH) written by a patient

Fantastic attitude from all staff during my stay on delivery and post natal wards. This was my second child, but was by far the most peaceful, and rewarding experience of the two. Checks on myself and my son were timely and efficient. The only downside is it took several hours to receive my necessary medications from the Pharmacy department, which delayed my discharge.
