The hospital and staff are excellent once you are admitted. The only negative is the wait to be seen by the triage nurse even if you have been sent as an emergency from another outpatient department. Presumably you have already been properly assessed and should not need a double assessment to get you to the right people quickly.
Throughout my cancer treatment Basildon was the primary hospital I attended, they arranged referrals for plastic surgery to Broomfields hospital and chemotherapy at Southend. I felt my treatment was well managed and I could not fault the hospital throughout my treatment thank you
Always receive good care.
i have received treatment at basi!don hospital breast care unit and the cardiothorasic unit and I cannot praise either enough. I have had quick appointments and follow up treatments. All the nurses, staff, doctors and surgeons have been marvellous. Thank you all.
I cannot fault the care and treatment i have had during my surgery and follow up for breast cancer. The mammography dept were always very helpful and professional. X-ray CT scanning, Nuclear Meadicine and cardiology were very efficient scheduling my pre treatment tests. The ward was clean and the staff friendly. I can not think of any aspect of my care which could have been improved..
I would like to thank Mr Siddiqi for all the care and attention he has given me .The shock of having cancer in my mouth was hard to come to terms with , I took a few of my family with me to the appointments and he was always patient and explained to all our questions and worrys I am 4. Months into my recovery and doing well . If you are ever in Mr Siddiqi s care he has an amazing bedside manner always has time to explain and encourage and most importantly a brilliant surgeon. Thank you Mr Jamal Siddiqi much appreciated.
Totally professional and would recommend highly.
Hospital is good but always understaffed and need more nursing and HCA staff inputs.
The Nursing staff are wonderful - (what would we do without you?!) - they do a really good job under the most difficult of circumstances.
Having been thrown from her horse and broken her wrist, my wife could not have wished for better care; from the off duty ambulance crew who helped her into the accident & emergency unit to the nurses & doctor who fixed her up, everyone couldn't have been more helpful and professional.
The hospital itself is clean, neat & looks very well maintained. We were very impressed.
Doctors were good, but nurse who took blood pressure, temperature and administered drip was a bit abrupt, and had a didn't really care attitude. Could improve the A&E waiting room by putting in comfortable seating to replace those horrible solid metal ones that a lot of people were complaining about. More seating required, at one point several people were having to stand as there wasn't enough seating to go round. 3hr waiting time could be improved. It would be good if some sort of waiting time expected is displayed.
Car Park charges are excessive. £3 pound for 2hrs, and because I had to wait for so long in A&E it cost me £5 to park.
