I gave birth at Barking birth centre 31/08/2020. My midwife was amazing and I couldn’t thank her enough. My birth didn’t go to plan as I had a 3.5hour labour and as it was the pandemic I didn’t want to come in with my partner and he got sent back. As I got to the birth centre I was already 8cm. I wanted a water birth but that didn’t end up happening as my body told me I was ready to push and I gave birth to a healthy boy. No tears or stitches and element home 6 hours after. Ladies this place is so amazing and relaxing! I would definitely recommend. Baby number 2 I will be giving birth here again

June 2020 I lost my son at 20weeks of pregnancy. It was my second pregnancy. During my first pregnancy I was looked after very well. Second pregnancy I had no touch with my midwife at all. I had one midwife appointment which she cancelled because it wasn’t necessary. I didn’t know who she was, I only knew her name, I didn’t have any kind of contact to her. I found that very disrespectful and also felt neglected. My sonographer on the other hand was amazing, her name was Halima I believe, she was a muslim hijab wearing woman. She went through my scans so nicely and explained everything, on the 20weeks scan where she found no heartbeat it was only her who comforted me. She was there and she made sure I felt her presence that I wasn’t alone as she was grieving from a loss too. For that I respect her very much! I really think the midwifes need to step up and look after their patients. After loosing my son I didn’t even get a call from my midwife with whom I had another appointment just a week after my loss. Absolutely disgusting. The receptionist male&female are great.

From the first time I walked to the reception I was sure that this will be the place where I will give birth. I was only a few weeks pregnant then. The reception staff was receptive and always smiling, answering any question with patience. The condition o the room was great, the clealiness was flawless, eveeythibg was put in order and waiting for me to use it. For the midwives I don't have enough words to thank them. The experience of giving birth was something that I couldn't imagine before (the best time of my life despite the pain). Each of the midwives who came in the room from the begining of the labour till the end was patient and encouraging, inspiring confidence. I was treated perfect, my child also, and for that all I have to say is THANK YOU, BARKING BIRTH CENTRE!

all I can say is that the whole experience has been excellent and being my 1st baby they made me feel comfortable, informed and answered all my questions and had all information needed. The centre is very clean and all staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Staff are always very helpful, friendly and cheerful. The birthing centre is always clean and tidy. No question is left unanswered. The staff members were very kind and showed me round the unit, explaining about the rooms. I was scared at getting my bloods done, but was made to feel relaxed. Thank you for making this experience the best.
