Written by a private patient

Following a recommendation contact was made with Prof. Khan and his team for my operation but I have to say I feel extremely let down by the pre and post operation consultations and administration team. I was paying as a private patient and paid over £9,000 for the operation and 24 month follow up package. From the very first telephone consultation which was scheduled for a 6pm telephone consult, and this not showing on Prof. Khan schedule, so no call received, pre-op appointments made for the wrong timeline and having to be changed with 24hrs notice, which is les than convenient when the hospital is more than an hour away, to all follow up consultants that should have but haven’t happened. I am now 25 weeks post op and have not spoken with Prof. Khan at all! Initially a follow up was booked for 2 weeks post op but they changed it, as too soon and then rescheduled for 19th September which I cancelled as it was the Queens funereal. This has never been rearranged by them, but I have received 2 letters via their web portal addressed to me, but containing information not relating to me, which is a total breach in confidentiality. Then this week out of the blue I received a voicemail from them, I responded by text and left a voice message stating I can’t talk at work and to call after 5pm, but the next day a very rude aggressive lady called in the middle of the day and when I tried to explain that I couldn’t talk and had message to this effect she became aggressive and rude. This has proved to be a very expensive operation with 0 follow up by the Consultative team. On a separate note the nursing staff on the day of my operation and for my overnight stay were fantastic and first rate shame the Consultant and his administrative team aren’t.
