I have very restricted mobility as a result I am unable to walk very far. Upon arriving at the hospital my daughter requested the help of a porter and wheelchair. She was advised that there was only one porter and the receptionist would make the request and the porter would come to assist as soon as possible. We had to wait approximately 3/4 hour for the porter to come to assist us during which time we had to sit and wait in her car. This made me 1/2 hour late for my appointment due to no fault of mine. My daughter was advised that there was only one porter employed by the hospital, I feel sure that this must be a regular occurrence. Whilst the receptionist was very helpful more porters need to be employed so that patients are not late for their appointment. In addition more up to date wheelchairs need to be purchased and the ancient old fashion ones got rid of as they are too heavy to manoeuvre, even the staff struggled to push me along!
