The staff were so friendly and helpful to both myself and my wife. I cannot fault the care I received. At times they were working under very difficult circimstances , especially at w/e because they were so short staffed. The ward was clean at all times. TRANSPORTATION is a different matter. It was an absolute disgrace to put it mildly. It turned up hours late to take people to appointments meaning many had to be missed and re-booked putting paitents at risk and causing distress. The transport meant to be taking me to a nursing home was booked for 10am and turned up at 4.30pm to late for them to accept me at the home that day. It was re.booked for 8 am the next morning and after many phone calls eventually arrived ar 12.30pm by which time my wife and I were extremely distressed. This was no fault of the nursing staff and they were as upset as we were. Something must be done to sort this out as it ruined what would have been a very pleasent experience at Ashford Hospital.
