Share review of Ashford Hospital
My appointment with the Dermatology Department was at 10.20 am on Wednesday 10 March to get a diagnosis on a very painful sore on my shin.
I was given a very thorough examination by a lovely Dr Maria Roest who immediately diagnosed that it was a malignant the lesion. Further examination showed a basal cell carcinoma on my back. I asked her if the lesion could be removed immediately and was told it could take up to four weeks to get an appointment.
I had just returned home from the hospital when I received a call saying that a slot had become available at 1.20 p.m. and if I could get back to the Dermatology Department by that time I could have the lesion removed. Wow!
Dr McEvoy was the surgeon who carried out the procedure. She was amazing, as was her nursing staff.
I cannot think of enough words to express my thanks and appreciation for the care and expertise I received from everyone in the department. Just so grateful.
