The surgery has generally been very good pre covid, the receptionist team really lets them down, very rarely do they show any empathy, in my most recent experience i was left feeling awful, upset and berated by the receptionist, she expressed the surgeries frustration that i had missed a telephone appt with them, i had called back within the hour and was so upset that i had missed the call already as i had been waiting over 24hrs for the call, after this experience we feel we will not be returning to this surgery and will now have to go to OOH to seek the medical advice we need for our 3 year old whilst we look for a new surgery. I have never been anything but polite to every single member of the team i have encountered there over the years, despite the attitude i have experienced from various members of their team, i think this was the last straw for our family.

Suggested improvements
If you are a member of a team that is primarly pt facing you should learn to be empathetic or at least act it, i would say that in your job role you should have a very basic understanding of how every patient is different and that you should do your best to not berate those people who are at your mercy, in this day and age it should always be your first thought to remember that you have no idea what this person is facing in their everyday life, you may just push someone over the edge whether you think it's a minor issue or not.
