The surgery has generally been very good pre covid, the receptionist team really lets them down, very rarely do they show any empathy, in my most recent experience i was left feeling awful, upset and berated by the receptionist, she expressed the surgeries frustration that i had missed a telephone appt with them, i had called back within the hour and was so upset that i had missed the call already as i had been waiting over 24hrs for the call, after this experience we feel we will not be returning to this surgery and will now have to go to OOH to seek the medical advice we need for our 3 year old whilst we look for a new surgery. I have never been anything but polite to every single member of the team i have encountered there over the years, despite the attitude i have experienced from various members of their team, i think this was the last straw for our family.
GP's still aren't regularly seeing people, whilst all the nursing team are, the receptionists seem to think because of their training they are indeed doctors. Called a couple of months ago in crisis (mental health) to be told the gp may or may not call back depending upon how busy they were. Considering the increase in suicides at the moment that seemed like a very irresponsible response.
Since Dr K Walsh joined practice we have been under her excellent care she is always open to your worries and gives advice .Dr Walsh is a great asset to our surgery.
Brilliant surgery, others should learn from it..
I'm a new patient at this surgery. They gave me a new patient appointment and picked up on several issues that I was unaware of. Together we are sorting them. They have also been extremely supportive of my father who has been ill and needed caring support. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great GP in the area.
