It is not easy getting to see a doctor, inevitably you are told you will get a call back and then told call backs are full up that day, so you have to wait until next day, which is not good when you are in pain and want to discuss with the doctor immediately. The 111 service is useless and gives out wrong information about A&E and when you visit A&E because you are told to go there, you wait hours to be seen.

Suggested improvements
Make sure everyone gives out same information. When I signed up with Surgery on moving to Worthing, I needed to receive Ulcer Care and the receptionist told me this was not provided at the surgery and I would need to go to the hospital for this treatment, so I had to stay with nurses out of area who had been caring for me. I have recently had a need to have emergency care and my nurses could not help me, so I had to keep going to A&E which was stressful in itself. I eventually made contact with my surgery to try and chase up an appointment and was told I would be seeing a nurse, who apparently deals in ulcer care and am now under their care. Why wasn't I told this when I first enquired, it would have saved me a lot of travelling over the past months and continuity of care could have been carried out!
