I hear all the problems people have getting appointments but we have never has such issues. Calling the surgery if we need to see someone and then speaking with a triage has saved a lot of time, sometimes we get given advice over the phone and don't need to go in, when we do we get an appointment the same day, often with our usual GP! On the whole they have been very helpful and I have great faith in them :)
