I called to get an appointment for a post natal issue. It is 3pm and I am told after advising what my situation is that if I need an appointment I should call the next morning at 8 am or come to the surgery. Easier said than done with a 1 week old baby! Especially when I will need to walk up to make the appointment to then go home again and make another trip back. Would be easier to make the appointment now over the phone for today or tomorrow and make just one trip. I don't know what would physically stop them doing this?

Response from The St Lawrence Surgery

We are really sorry that you experienced this. Please contact jowadey@nhs.net and she will do her best to help you. We are trying very hard not to ask patients to ring back at 8.00 a.m. and we will always see you on the day if it is urgent, we never turn anyone away. Please always ask for the on-call team to ring you back if you experience this again who will ring you back that afternoon and offer you an appointment on that day if clinically appropriate.
