I feel what has happened over the last month or so has not been handled well. The emphasis seems to have been on the practice & not the effet on the patients. It has been very stressful especially for those who need regular monitoring & dressings etc more thought should have been given regarding the elderly & long term sick.

I've moved a fair few times in my life and I have known good and bad doctors surgeries, therefore I think I'm qualified enough to offer my point of view. The Cawsand surgery as a building is always very clean, neat and tidy. There's a decent selection of magazines to browse while waiting, plenty of information brochures and other such useful bumph. It has a comfortable atmosphere possibly due to it being a converted house (so I believe) so it's like waiting in someone's living room really. The only negative thing I can think of is it's a bit naff for parking your car. However in the course of things that's a very minor point. Staff wise from the receptionist through to the doctors, I've found them all to be helpful, polite but friendly. None of that snooty receptionist lark at cawsand surgery, thank heavens! One really big plus for me, being profoundly deaf, is that the doctor or nurse, whoever you are seeing, will actually come out to the waiting room and get you. So much better than those dreaded loudspeaker things that have caused me, and I bet other people with hearing problems, to miss seeing the doctor. The nurses are all very nice, friendly, knowledgeable and have time to listen. In certain procedures where it can be traumatic to have a nurse with a heavy hand, I've found them all to be gentle and considerate. As for blood taking, not one has caused me to wince and I've had numerous blood tests. The doctors themselves are second to none. Like I said previously I've met many in the past and some have been nightmares, a couple have even reduced me to tears with their attitude towards my deafness. Not at Cawsand surgery! Each one goes out of the way to make you feel welcome, to keep you informed of your ailments, giving information in such a way that you don't need a medical qualification to understand. Once told I'm a lip reader they'll ensure I can follow them, on occasions I can't they'll either write it down or ensure my carer can understand. Never impatient, never any eye rolling our sighing. These doctors have time for you, even when they've not (we all know how busy doctors are nowadays and there's many who don't worry about letting you know!), nothing is too much bother. They're all on your side and will make sure you're treated as well as possible. To sum up then, I can only base this opinion on my own experiences and as a disabled woman with many health problems it's very important I get on OK with and trust my doctors and their staff. Cawsand is the best doctors surgeries I've had the fortune to be registered with. Nothing but praise. I just hope they continue giving the same excellent service for many years to come. Thanking you.
