This is a terrible practise before you even get to see a doctor - appointments must be booked two weeks in advance or at 2.30 on the same day, meaning if you have a stomach infection as I do, you have to either compete for one of only 8 emergency spaces available per day (which you wont get if there are any children or seniors who need appointments) OR you have to wait a fortnight and just let the infection grow and get worse until you are so ill you can utilise the emergency services. Utterly disgraceful. this onlu applies to poor people, by the way. GUESS HOW LONG PRIVATE PATIENTS HAVE TO WAIT.

Response from The Phoenix Practice

We are sorry to read about your recent experience on accessing our GP's. We have systems in place to enable our patients to access a GP within our normal opening hours. Patients do not have to book appointments two weeks in advance or at 2.30 pm if they want to consult a GP when they are unwell, as you indicate. If a patient needs to see a GP, they could check online, call or visit the practice at or after 8.30 am Mon-Fri for an appointment. If no appointments are available we operate a triage system from 8.30-10.30 am Mon-Fri, whereby patient details are taken at reception and passed onto a GP who will contact patients, assess their requirements and allocate an appointment based on the clinical need of the patient. If a patient needs to see a GP in the afternoon they could check online, call or visit the practice at or after 2.30 pm on Mon / Tue / Thu or Fri for an appointment. You should not have left your stomach infection unattended for two weeks and call upon the emergency services for the circumstances you describe. We provide services to NHS patients and do not see private patients. We trust the process described will assist you and others better understand how to access GP services in the future at the Phoenix Practice.
