I was booked for ear stringing Tuesday 29 Dec 1.50 at hockley but the nurse called in sick so I was put off until 4.10 that day and directed to Rayleigh surgery. Unfortunately the blockage could not be cleared and I made an appointment to return today. Again I could only get An appointment at Rayleigh. I arrived In good time for my appointment to be told that the machine was broken and the treatment could not be carried out. I was then directed back to Hockley who had been unable to find me a convenient appointment previously. The reception at Rayleigh were supposed to be seeking An appointment at Hockley but when i went to the counter she was dealing with another pAtient and my needs were abandoned. i gave up trying and went to Hockley to make my own arrangements only to find their machine is also broken. I am now paying £100 to have the treatment carried out privately as Hockley were unable to confirm when I might be able to have the treatment carried out. It would be funny if the deafness and tinnitus were not so debilitating.

The Doctors just stare at computer and do not interact with the patient. Receptionists un-helpful. Have had to resort to paying private. Terrible!

I have recently moved to this practice and cannot fault it. The telephone manner of the receptionists is welcoming and helpful. Both doctors I have seen at the surgery in the short time I have been with them have taken the time to listen carefully to my concerns/symptoms and offered follow up appointments to monitor me. The waiting room is bright, welcoming and exceptionally clean. Thanks to all the staff for great care and attention.

Whilst i find my past experiences with the Doctors very good,unfortunately i can't say the same for the 'receptionists' and the online consultation service. To not get ANY response from making 2 online consultations (other than automated replies to sending of the forms) for 10 working days, when i received a choose & book letter 8 days after it was authorised by a doctor,i think is unacceptable,practice manager is never available, and some receptionists just can't be bothered with you when you present them with a clear example of their incompetence....as with most things these days,nobody is made accountable for their inability to do their jobs,in the public sector anyway. Just to add something about these feedback surveys, if anybody supposedly overseeing these comments that are posted ever actually reads them,because on one of the feedback surveys i filled in relating to my recent experience with Online consultations one of the questions at the end asks if you would like to have someone call you to discuss the issue so i put 'yes please,i can't wait,but i doubt very much whether anyone will bother',needless to say nobody has.

I had a health check with the senior health care assistant who was very pleasant. I had a question and she advised me to make an appointment with Dr Lui as she specialises in my concerns. Now the problem starts to get an appointment. I have been told by reception that I am not allowed to request a certain doctor and until the other doctors appointments have been filled they cannot release any for Dr Lui otherwise she has too many!!! I asked to book a pre bookable appointment and was offered week commencing 7 September but morning only. This is very difficult when working and I asked for a late afternoon/ evening appointment and was told "no". I am wondering if getting an appointment is the same problem at other surgeries?!
