With so much negativity around GP's and appointments I felt it necessary to comment on my experience. I had hurt my back which resulted in not being able to walk and attend the surgery. I phoned and spoke to a lovely lady on reception who was very understanding and sympathetic, and booked me in for a telephone appointment. Dr Anderson phoned me and we discussed the nature of my condition and how it happened. She quite rightly advised me on how I could help myself avoid the occurrences of such issues eg increased exercise. This was not done in a 'telling off' manner but in a helpful and supportive way. She also discussed medication options and arranged for a prescription to be taken to the chemist so that I could arrange pickup. I can't thank both ladies enough for their contribution to the service I received. Thankfully I am not a regular attender at my GP and you only seem to hear the negative feedback, particularly at a time of high political activity, so I think it's about time we started highlighting the amazing work our GP's do, and not forgetting the admin staff that support them. Thank you.
