As there was a long wait for an appointment, it was suggested that I phoned on the Monday when the Locum was on duty. I did and was given an appointment that afternoon. It was very satisfactory and I was able to discuss my concerns with the doctor.
Overall good service
Good service.
Telephone contact with doctor works well.
Chronology:
22/6 saw Doctor and agreed appointment needed with Matthew, the Physio to assess and arrange tests to deal with severe chronic back pain.
Earliest appointment available 9/8 09.00 offered and booked, i.e. 7 weeks from visit.
9/8 08.45 having driven to surgery, told that appointment was cancelled as physio not coming in. No further booking possible.
10/8 called surgery and was offered earliest possible date of 20/9, i.e. 13 weeks, 4 months, from original visit. I think this is a very long time to wait considering that you cancelled the original appointment, not I.
Then 16/8 15.00 I received an unexpected call from Arundel surgery while in a business meeting to say that the physio now available. As I was in a meeting and couldn't continue the call I apologised and said that I needed to leave the room to call back immediately. This I did but by the time I got through your call-filtering phone routine and waited for the receptionist to pick up, explained to her that I had just been called and why, the physio had apparently left!
I had an appointment to meet my new GP, Dr. Bradbury. I’d been a patient of Dr. Jenkins for over 20 years. I have a couple of current health issues and was anxious as to how my new GP would respond. I needn’t have been anxious. Dr. B listened, was compassionate, authoritative, showed understanding and between us we agreed a way forward that left me feeling less stressed and more confident about how to cope. It was a huge relief and I felt hugely reassured.
The Arundel Surgery was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of excellence in 2024 for delivering outstanding care.
