My review is of the Reception staff, not of the GPs. I have only seen one GP at this surgery since joining a few months ago and he is excellent. It is very difficult to get through on the phone for an appointment. Whenever I go to the surgery there is always a queue for the Receptionist. Note they have an electronic check-in system for appointments but being a new patient I have had to see the Receptionist to collect or hand in forms, prescriptions, etc. On several occasions while queuing I have heard the Receptionist at the window making small talk with other staff in the office behind the window and I have found this irritating as the queue is long. The Receptionists are not proactive and have a 'shrug shoulder' response. Today I went to collect a prescription for 2 items filed a few days ago as I have run out of medication. Only 1 item was ready. I asked her why and she literally shrugged her shoulders. When I pressed to find out when I may get the other prescription she just said come back later. My actual GP was walking in and out of the Reception office while this was going on! On another occasion my husband (who is a Diabetic) and I spent almost 3 weeks trying to locate his prescription and were passed back and forth between the surgery and the Chemist. I joined this surgery after reading reviews of the Doctors but the Reception staff and prescription system tardiness lead me not to recommend it to anyone else. I now have to take extra time out to locate my other prescription.
