The service is very good, and the staff is helpful. The waiting time has increased over the last few years. Also getting an appointment despite the new system is very frustrating. I cannot suggest how to improve these as I know they are due to the lack of doctors and also funding. I would not say lack of space as there are quite a few private services which could give rooms to extra doctors. It would be nice to have continuity with the same doctor despite the fact that they are all pretty good!
Very good surgery.
The biggest problem at the surgery is the reception area. It is difficult to get through to them to get an appointment at the appropriate time. The practice doctors are all excellent. The receptionists and the (lack of) organisation of the receptionists is everything that a poorly organised workplace is - and more
On the whole my experience at the studholme practice is satisfactory. However, it is sometimes difficult to get an appointment, especially if you want to see a particular doctor. I am also concerned at the rapid turnover of doctors. I think it is important to see the same doctor and build a relationship with him or her.
Another senior partner is about to leave, Dr.Butt and although he has never been my designated doctor, I have recently seen him several times and I have great confidence in him. He is my son's doctor and has been great with him through some quite difficult times. He will be greatly missed.
To conclude, my main concerns are to get an appointment within a week and to be able to see the same doctor.
Like many surgeries Studholme is under considerable pressure from the sheer number of patients and perhaps they have reached the stage where they should close their books to new patients in order to better serve the existing patients.
