I am 77 years old and phoned today to make an appointment for a covid/flu vaccination. Waited a long time to get through as I was fourth in the queue. Got down to second and the line went dead so had to start again. Eventually spoke to a receptionist who informed me the first appointment they could offer me was in a month’s time. When I complained this was a long time to wait she was extremely patronising and said they hadn’t got enough vaccines to put on extra clinics. With one of the most elderly patient groups in the borough, was this a mistake in advance ordering. Just seen a friend of mine who are patients at Stag Medical Centre. He is 91 she is 89. They have not had their Covid vaccination because they can’t get through to the surgery in the phone. Yet another friend of mine at a different surgery phoned hers and got one the following day. Stag Medical and Rose Court surgeries - this is not good enough.

Suggested improvements
The receptionist I spoke to was very unhelpful and patronising. She kept repeating the same excuse as if I hadn’t understood. Better training is needed.
