2nd December 2023

I tried calling a 8:10am and there was just an automated message saying to call back at a quieter time. I decided to pop down and got an appointment for the same afternoon. Generally, the receptionists have been fine with me, never rude and the doctors have been good aswell. I was given antibiotics, told my infection was severe and if there was no improvement in 48hrs to go back. That evening I actually got so much worse, and called for advice to check if this was normal. The receptionist I spoke to shut me down, was very rude, basically said tough and if I felt I was that bad call 111. I only wanted advice. I persevered, still felt no better and it transpired the antibiotics I was initially given, hadn't worked at all and I still had a high temperature. I did need to see a doctor and ended up being more poorly for longer because of 1 receptionist who thought she knew better. I wish I knew her name, I would have complained.

Suggested improvements
If the receptionist allowed me to get the advice I needed. I would have known it wasn't a normal reaction and could have potentially started new medication sooner, but my recovery is now longer as a result.
