My excellent health provider is always very busy.

When my test results returned 3 days later with a “no further action required”note, my GP didn’t call with this information. More importantly he didn’t ask have the symptoms gone away, so my case could be closed. When I phoned the reception to get my results I was given the news that “no further action required” I asked for help, but was informed no help was available and to call back Monday, so further help became impossible with my original debilitating circumstances. It has not been pleasant being confined to my home and monopolising the toilet for 6 days.

I have moved to riverside from another surgery in Horsham. They are so helpful, efficient and always seem pleased to help. I never feel like an inconvenience and they are easy to get hold of electronically which really suits me. I have only spoken to Dr Dias so far but this was a positive conversation as a new patient and everything I requested be put in place has been done quickly which is so refreshing. Long may it last.

My health is mine; it does not belong to anyone. I am trying to take an active role in my health but it sometimes feels like you as an individual are not welcomed to be an active role in my own health. I have many examples (if you would like ask) but I will only list the last one as an example (its minor compared). I had a blood sample request for histamine, doesn't sound complicated in such an advanced country. I have to keep this short so as not to write a book on incompetence on Doctors and the blood taking departments. It took 4 visits to have my blood taken, four holes in my arm, 4 car drives, 4 parking car park tickets. Why the lack of knowledge from Doctors and blood departments (have to keep this short) then when I finally get a result I go online (20th-century stuff) and it just says satisfactory, after 4 attempts I would like to know the actual results like every other blood test I have had that actually shows the levels i.e. towards the lower or higher end. So I call to receptionist at Riverside surgery met by I only see what you see. So I call the testing Hospital they say some of the results were not authorised and the ones that were they cant give to a patient and suggest I ask Riverside surgery to request them to request directly so I can have the readings. Receptionist again, I only see what you do, so do you want an appointment with a doctor (for blood test results! How much Doctors time do you want to waste to blood results aren’t we taught not to waste Doctors time for such things) ME "No you just need to call the hospital that took the blood and they will give it to you" "receptionist so what's the number" "Me what! you don’t have the number of the hospital that you use to get blood results" "receptionist so what exactly do you want" "Me just the actual results of the blood test" "Receptionist well I will have to pass that to a doctor for clearance" . I mean what is wrong with this system at doctors where the patient is so disempowered that they can't see the actual results after 4 holes put in his arm!! And before you answer I have full access to my medial and blood test results online as I should (their mine) so why after 4 holes put in my arm after 4 different occasions should I not have access to this one. I have been at the hands of certain Doctors that nearly cost me my life (yes please ask about that more than happy to elaborate here) not at this surgery. So I choose to make my own informed opinions of results no matter how small or big, it’s my health no ones else’s so let the patient be actively involved
