Firstly, I apologise for the delay in adding this review of the treatment my father received on Monday 25 November 2019. With all the Christmas build up and busy family time, I have now just sat down to write it 2 months later (better late than never!!). I just wished to relay how pleased I, and not least my father, was on a house visit Dr Smith made on the above date. As I hold third party consent for both my ageing parents, I made the call to book a possible house visit for the same day, as my mother had called me in the morning to say that my dad was not feeling very well, also not being able to go to the toilet for 2 or 3 days. And being 93, he was getting quite worried how he was feeling. With no trouble at all, upon calling the surgery, the receptionist booked the house visit, and said it would be by 1pm. Sure enough, Dr Smith arrived by that time and sat down with my dad to discuss his problem. Without going into too much detail, what struck my dad more than anything was the "bedside" manner of Dr Smith in putting my dad at ease, and really just assuring him that nothing was majorly wrong with him. A prescribed course of laxative powder sachets was given, and all was well with my dad a couple of days later. I'm writing here to give praise indeed to the Ridgeacre House for firstly giving such a good service in times of need. Not only that, to say it sometimes just needs a doctor's voice to a patient who is not probably as chronically ill as other patients, but nonetheless needs a reassuring professional voice to make them mentally reassured. I hope I've put this across how grateful my mom and dad are since moving to the surgery from another practice about 2 years ago.
