Have called the surgery this morning 29/5/18 and have spoken to one of the most un helpful horrible receptionists I have ever come across called sandi. I needed information for my husband as he is not registered with a GP and all she could tell me is quote' well he is going to have to go to a walk in centre. She clearly wanted to get me off the phone and made it clear how busy they were so he won't get see. I'm sorry I am a nurse I work in the emergency department and regardless of how busy it is its not my patients concern. All they want is to be seen and given the correct information. When asking sandi the receptionist how I go about getting him registered yet again she made me feel as though I was bothering her. She then proceeded to ask, well is he born in England. Yes he is thank you!! My experience today talking to sandi the receptionist has not been very nice and strongly feel that her people skill and telephone manner needs to be worked on. Also she needs to realise patients Do Not need to know how busy they are, we are all aware of the pressures and strains on the NHS all we need is a service that is helpful towards are needs. I am very disgusted and if she were a receptionist on one of the wards in the hospital in which I work, and witnessed her rude and un helpful manner with any of my patient, she would have been spoken to and reminded of the duty of care she has for the patients within the surgery and those calling for help and advice.
