If I have to contact the surgery for an appointment I dread it as I know I cannot make an appointment without first going through why with the receptonist then the receptionist decides whether my medical condition warrants a call from the Dr, not sure how qualified on medical conditions the receptionists are, the Dr when they do ring back diagnose over the phone and you pick a prescription up, I Even when I was passing blood in my urine a Dr decided I didn't need to see them and diagnosed incorrectly over the phone!

Response from Parkwood Surgery

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. We are obviously disappointed with the review and the scores you have given across all of the areas of the review. I would like to clarify a clarify some of your observations. Our receptionists are not clinically trained and do not make a decision about whether you can speak to doctor or not. They are asking the questions to try to make sure that your are booked into the most appropriate appointment. If you have a new condition and do not want to tell the receptionist about this then you are free to let them know you would rather not say and they would book you for a call back from one of our doctors. With regard to how this consultation was conducted please can you contact me so that I can review your case more fully and if needs be improve on how we handle certain situations.
