Try booking an appointment with main GP, for me impossible, always book future appointments with who ever is available to see on that date. Recently, 1702 appt', called for at 17:35, I was 2 minutes late for a double booking, (one after the other and lost my place). Impossible to be seen earlier than 2 weeks, poor service. Tried to book an appointment after a Gastroscopy, as a change of meds was required, next apptment available for me, (Working adult male), 11 days later, rediculous appointment maker. How come other practices can see patients on the day they need to be seen? Blood samples, whats the idea of going to the local hospital and join a que of 50 people waiting? It does not take that long to take a sample, no nurse or plebotist at the surgery? All very slow, time consuming. I am impressed that the GP agreed with my findings and got me sorted as quickly as the slow system would allow, also, his decision to include the gastroscopy which has offered more symptoms for treatment, previously unknown / unaware, Hiatus hernia and Barrets Mucosa. I appreciate the timings and the volume of patients coming in, but times are it would appear are for general guidence, we are all very busy people, what happened to the 12 minute slot, if I have to wait a further 33 minutes? I enjoy the practice very much, this is the first time I've had to see a GP on a regular basis for a serious issue, the last time was years ago, so I am not a frequent sick bay ranger. Can I add that at 55, wouldn't a GP like to see me and give me a check up based on my age? My last check up was military at 42, after being diagnosed with PTSD and CPI, (I deal with it my way, no need for drugs). I hope things improve, please don't get me wrong, I would only wish the Practice every success in its function and continuity.
