Some of the receptionist staff can be incredibly rude and extremely unhelpful. From what I understand most of the better doctors and nurses have left and now it is nigh on impossible to get an appointment. If you are reading this and are considering registration with this surgery I would dismiss this practice and continue looking, because not only is it a sub par surgery but with the shortage of doctors I would assume that they wouldn't accept you anyway.

Response from Northdown Surgery

Please note we are not a sub par surgery. We received a Good rating in every category from the CQC in August 2016 and we have worked very hard this past year to do our best to move the practice forward. The Patient Participation Group has been very happy with the progress we have made. Comments regarding the "better staff have left" is inappropriate and untrue. We have some incredibly dedicated and caring professionals working at Northdown Surgery and these sort of comments just demotivate and demoralise staff who are trying their very best. We have a lack of doctors at the surgery because we have had numerous doctors retire over recent years and there is a national shortage of GPs. We are one of the few practices in Kent to be accepted as part of a scheme for doctors returning to practice and hopefully our GP numbers will increase over the next few months. Please feel free to make an appointment to see the Practice Manager so we can address your concerns directly. Practice Manager
