Having called the surgery earlier to speak with a doctor who has always overseen my medical care with regards to issues of fertility, pregnancy and childbirth I was abruptly told that she would not accept telephone consultations. I went on to attempt to ask advice (early pregnant and losing blood/ in pain) but was spoken over and told that it was the Doctors request before I could even speak of the nature of my inquiry. I have never called before and I'd be loathe to again - but I guess that's what you are hoping for?! Not once did the 'navigator' ask more about my symptoms or even attempt to support me in a plan. It was only last week I overheard a group of people speaking about the poor service and aggressive style of a receptionist at the surgery (not all - clearly)and in my head I was quick to defend your service - seemingly naively and prematurely. I work for Notts HC also as a Doctor and I am sad that this is what our health care has amounted to.
