I live in Northwood for almost 10 years. Mountwood Surgery used to be well run with enough GPs and give fast response. Now the situation is completely different. The GPs in Mountwood first of all insist upon patients writing an essay to the GP before the surgery will call me to find out what happens. They call this facility the Online Consult. This facility is opened from 8:30am to 11:30am on weekdays only. If I miss this time slot, it will be shut off completely and become non-communicable. Any urgent illness will need to be dealt with by A&E of hospitals. Any call to the surgery after their very restrictive hours for immediate appointment will be flatly refused. I have now had to look for local non-medical ways to solve my problems. Twice I have argued with the GP in the Surgery and a pharmacy about dispensation of medications that I was desperately in need. Despite my complaints to NHS, no follow up action had been taken. Seeing primary care doctors is now a nightmare to me. The current situations compare favourably of the service of government clinics in 1950-60s in the place where I came from.
