The only real way to get an appointment is to que up outside at half 8 when the Surgery opens you can get an appointment for the same day, don’t waste your time phoning you'll never get through and the Internet appointments are for weeks in advance, so if you are unemployed or retired that’s great but if you have to work would probably be better to go elsewhere - parking isn’t very good either.

Dr Langton is excellent, Professional, personable and genuinely cares. Diane Bird, one of the nurses is also fantastic-Nothing is too much trouble. It is an absolute nightmare trying to get an appointment to fit around working hours, and the receptionists are extremely unhelpful and inflexible. An excellent surgery is let down frequently by poor customer facing skills, inflexibility and in some cases complete rudeness.

I can't speak for anyone else but I got and get excellent care from Dr Langton at Monks Park surgery. He listened to my opinions and we came to an agreement as to my best care that we were both happy with. Rather than just being formulaic like some doctors can be he used his common sense as well as his experience and clinical knowledge to come to a judgement. In my view it was clearly the best course of action for the circumstances. Getting appointments normally involves calling up repeatedly until you can get through at 8.30 am but I have so far never failed to get an one. In my experience this rush for appointments in the mornings is standard across NHS surgeries and Monks Park's helpful receptionists handle it as well as or better than most. I totally recommend both Dr Langton and the surgery.

Dr Martha Gutierrez went above and beyond all my highest expectations of a GP last week . I was in severe pain , Dr agreed to see me as an urgent case in her OWN time , so thorough in her investigations , kept me calm relaxed well informed and arranged for me to be admitted to Southmead hospital that same afternoon . So very kind and patient with me and showed genuine concern , absolutely outstanding care and compassion , I feel totally blessed to be under her care . My gratitude will be eternal . A massive thank you to Linda , reception manager, who too was extremely kind and made this all possible . Tanya Swain
