I saw Dr Lynch and could not have wishes for better attention. He listened and i did not feel rushed. All in all the Maderia Practice is excellent. The biggest downside is the time patient have to wait to get a routine appointment, especially when the doctor says I want to see you in 2 weeks and then have to wait over 3 weeks.

I find the receptionists in this Practice extremely helpful at all times. I may have to wait a while to get an appointment with my own doctor but all the receptionists do their very best to get me what I want. They are all extremely friendly and efficient. I can find no faults as I feel they have a very difficult job to carry out.

I have been a patient of Madeira Medical for nearly 50 years and cannot recommend them enough. In all this time I have never not been given a suitable appointment. Because of their superb medical skills my throat cancer was diagnosed early and here I am 5 years down the line and still cancer free. Recently I have been experiencing some gastric problems and after blood tests and an Ultrasound Scan was referred for a consultant examination before Xmas. I had still not heard anything by 16th January so I telephoned the Surgery and spoke to the receptionist, EMMA, who made all the enquiries, rang me back to keep me informed of the current situation, finally got through to the clinic, made me an appointment and telephoned me with all the details. This medical practice is a combination of experienced practitioners backed up by superb admin staff. My lucky day was picking you when I moved to West Byfleet.

I called the surgery today (January 11th) hoping to make an appointment to see one of the doctors (not a specific doctor) sometime in the next couple of weeks. I need to see a doctor about a knee issue that I have, but it's not an emergency. The receptionist asked me if I was wanting an appointment for today and I said that it's not an emergency but that I need to see a doctor. The receptionist then said that the first open appointment she had would be on February 6th (i.e. more than 3 weeks away. Alternatively I should call first thing in the morning and ask for an appointment on that day. Whilst I understand the constraints that the surgery has to operate within, I don't understand why, for non urgent conditions, it's not possible to get a planned appointment, with any of the doctors, with less than three and a half weeks notice. My place of work and work commitments mean that it's very helpful to plan an appointment rather than take pot luck each day. However, to wait more than three weeks for a doctor to see me about an uncomfortable, but non emergency condition is disappointing. The service provided by the surgery, the reception and the doctors is great, but it seems unexpectedly difficult to get to see a doctor for conditions other than emergencies...
