Phoned for an emergency appointment for a 20 month old with a rash and was told that we were 15th in the queue for an emergency appointment and we were advised that it would be quicker to pop into out local walk in centre. Subsequently found out that the local walk in centres do not accept children under 2 years old so the Madeira receptionists appear to lack basic knowledge and were referred back to Madeira who conveniently forgot their recommendation. Still waiting for the on-call doctor to call us...foe whatever good that will do. Pathetic service for an infant

Firstly our apologies that you received this bad service, it is not normal and we are surprised that someone would not check your child was under 2 years old. This will be reinforced to the reception staff. We have been experiencing a very high demand at present and are trying to get our patients the treatment they require as soon as possible.
