I SEEM TO HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE. IN AUGUST I AWARDED THE PRACTICE 2 STARS FOR SUBSTANDARD SERVICE. THIS TIME I AWARD NO STARS AS THE TREATMENT OF MY REQUEST FOR MEDICINE WAS NOTHING SHORT OF SHOCKING. FOR 5-6 YEARS WE HAVE ORDERED OUR TABLETS ON LINE AND IT HAS WORKED FINE UNTIL RECENTLY. I PLACED THE ORDER ON THE 24TH.OCTOBER AND THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT SAID :- THE PRESCRIPTION WILL BE AVAILABLE TO COLLECT ON 26TH. OCTOBER. PLEASE COLLECT YOUR PRESCRIPTION FROM McCORMICKS IN RECTORY ROAD. THAT'S GOOD WE THOUGHT, GAVE THEM GOOD TIME AND CALLED THERE ON 28TH. THEY WERE NOT AVAILABLE. WE CALLED IN AGAIN ON 29TH. AND 31ST. STILL NOT IN. WE PHONED L.T.S. ON 2ND. NOVEMBER AND WERE ASSURED THE PRESCRIPTION WAS POSTED ON THE 25TH. BUT WHY POST WHEN IT COULD BE SENT ELECTRONICALLY? WE RETURNED AGAIN ON 2ND NOVEMBER AND PHARMACIST EXPLAINED SHE HAD TO GO IN PERSON TO GENERAL POST OFFICE (IN HER OWN TIME) WHERE SHE RETRIEVED THE PACKAGE WHICH HAD INSUFFICIENT STAMPS ON IT. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING SERVICE AND THOSE RESPONSIBLE SHOULD BE GIVEN A SEVERE REPRIMAND. THEY DON'T WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

WE WERE GOING ON HOLIDAY ON AUGUST 5TH. ALTHOUGH THEY WERE NOT DUE FOR REPEAT, WE ORDERED OUR TABLETS IN GOOD TIME. WE HAD ELECTRONIC ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF OUR ORDER, STATING THE PRESCRIPTIONS WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO COLLECT ON 1ST. AUGUST. WE WERE PASSING BY OUR CHOSEN PHARMACY ON 2ND. AUGUST BUT PHARMACIST SAID NO FAX HAD BEEN RECEIVED. SHE TELEPHONED THE SURGERY AND THEY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS REQUIRED OF THEM. IT APPEARS THAT THE COMMUNICATION WE HAD WAS TO INFORM US THAT THE PAPERWORK WOULD BE READY ON THE 1ST, NOT AT THE PHARMACY BUT AT THE SURGERY. OUR HELPFUL PHARMACIST HAD TO EXPLAIN THE MECHANICS OF ELECTRONIC ORDERING AND WE PICKED THEM UP ON 3RD. AUGUST. A BAD SHOW THEM NOT KNOWING THE SYSTEM.

It is very difficult to get an appointment with my doctor, Dr.Richards, as I know she is only there two days a week, but there seem to be so many different doctors and it is not easy to know who to ask to see. When I order my tablets on line, for some reason you send two months now instead of one month which is difficult as I only take two co-coda mol at night and it doesn't work out. I have asked for it to be changed but nothing has happened. Sorry to say but it is different at the surgery now. Please note, I am not complaining about the treatment I have received especially from Dr.Richards. Georgina Owen.

I found the request for feedback on the prescription leaflet, which came via 'My Repeats'. Could not determine whether the review requested was meant to refer to that service or the service from the surgery. I see it is about the Practice, 1) The Dr., whose name is heading the script, is not known to me. He must be signing the script based on what is found on the computerised records? 2) I wondered how many patients would bother to read the request for feedback, apart from compulsive readers, like me. And how many of the elderly have access or interest in accessing a website? 3) The prescription, when delivered, is always accompanied by two (2) copies of the script. This seems a waste of paper. Often the delivery man has to come twice as the package for my husband is ready at a different time from my package. This seems a waste of fuel and time. I order them together to avoid this duplication of trips. 4) There used to be a note on the script to state "date of next review" I should like to know what this 'review' was, as I have never noticed any reference to me in that regard. 5) Although there is a comment below stating "Great, keep going". That is enough.

I phoned the surgery and the recepionist said the duty doctor would call me in the next 2 hours. I. Gave her my symptons. I suspected that I might a urine infection. The receptionist called me back and told me to come back at 10.45 (same day). I was seen very promptly. The duty doctor was very supportive and efficient. I had a good chat with her and was given some antibiotics. Very good service all round.
