My constructive suggestion unfortunately comes from a negative experience. I developed a bladder infection on 15 Dec 2016 but as I was not dying but only in pain I was told I could not have an appointment but could attend a open sit and wait surgery at 0840 16 Dec. I did that but did not know the doors opened at 0800 so I had about 30 others in front of me. Around 70 minutes later suffering a great deal of discomfort I saw the doctor with my urine sample which had blood in it. I was prescribed antibiotics. Christmas day the bladder infection came back. My only option it seemed was to ring 111 who were no use at all. After asking questions off a card and determined I was not dying I was told I would get a call back within 6hrs . After several other calls this turned into within 24hrs. I was given no advice what so ever. I ended up wandering around Wakefield Boxing day looking for a walk in centre which in the end King St. centre treated me. But I was very annoyed to find out I could have been treated Christmas day at King St. preventing me again suffering hours of much discomfort. If I had known instead of finding out the hard way I would not have suffered the hours of pain I endured. Was there anything else I could have done? Maybe you could put out a leaflet or put it on the internet what to do and were to go when out of hours. It may prevent others suffering. I appreciate ultimately it is not your responsibility.
