Care is ultimately great but the real problem is accessing a clinician. I have just checked online for an appointment and the first bookable is late July. Really not good enough. If I call for a same day I have to jump through hoops with the call handler and tell them what the problem is. I recently had to do this even though I had a potentially serious problem and knew I had to be seen soon. I was actually given a two week referral. It's quite upsetting to have to impart personal information to the call handler to see if I may access my own G.P. It is even difficult to get a telephone consultation, I was recently quoted around 10 days for this. I do not want to demand same day appointments but to wait a month is unacceptable. Something in between would be better, to be able to book within a couple of weeks I feel is not unreasonable.
