As a person who is often in the car or working at 0830 when the surgery opens, by the time I ring up and get through, the majority of the time the appointments have all gone. Even when I want to book ahead, it has to be exactly one week ahead. I think I did go to the surgery for a very early appointment when Dr Mcgilligan was there and was astounded to find a queue of people there at 0830 waiting for the surgery to open. It was like a dole queue! Although some of the GPs are OK, I have had experience on two occasions where I've not been managed properly the first time around and had to go back. I know someone else who had the same experience and if they hadn't been in health care and insisted on a certain referral, they would not have got one. I'm not sure if this surgery is any better than others but I'm not convinced they've got their booking system completely right and Dr Mcgilligan going was a huge loss. On a positive note, the practice nurses are brilliant and I've seen Mandy Wilson and Marketta on a number of times. Receptionists are OK, could be friendlier but I guess they have a tough job.
