Dreadful overall service during COVID. No thought given to patients needs from having to tell a receptionist your embarrassing ailments who then decide without any medical training whether your ill enough to speak to a doctor to the woeful prescription collection service until recently when the Dispensary took over. No contingency planning for system failures.

Waiting time to speak to reception is dreadful. I spent 7 minutes waiting for results of a sample sent 6 days ago to be told the line wasn't being manned, but l was first in the que and the ring tone maintained. I hung up and then waited a further 15 minutes to speak to main reception to be told a letter was sent out yesterday to say that l needed to repeat the sample. Not the greatest communications.

Maybe more staff required to man the telecommunications especially now that the health centre are discouraging patients from actually visiting in person for advice due to covid 19.

I’ve been waiting for over 3 weeks to get a prescription drawn up. On Friday I was told it would be done and to ring on Monday but today I’ve run 8 times and still not spoken to anyone, I’m either on hold for 30 mins or the call is cut off before being answered

You ask about recommending the practice as if there were a choice. As it has been explained to me more than once, I don't have the option of going elsewhere. The receptionists are extremely helpful when they can be but, in a disconcerting number of cases, processes and procedures prevent them from being. I only seek an appointment when I believe it is absolutely necessary and am happy to accept a telephone consultation when appropriate but it is difficult to obtain either. I have developed the habit of submitting prescription requests sufficiently in advance to allow for administrative errors or pharmacy out-of-stocks (both happen with disconcerting regularity) but you have now taken to post-dating prescriptions until the 'last minute'. Peace of mind is as important as physical health to me but it is difficult to achieve in my dealings with Holmes Chapel Health Centre.
