This is a small rural practice with two GPs and the service they provide is excellent. Having recently moved to the area from a city suburb where I was registered with the local health centre, where waits of up to a week to see a GP were not uncommon, and the chance of seeing one's 'own' GP practically non-existent, I was amazed to find Hawkshead still operates a walk-in appointments service, and the relationship with the two doctors is just the way it should be, providing reassurance and continuity which is so important where health matters are concerned. Referrals are speedily dealt with, and regular health checks are carried out as and when necessary. Absolutely no complaints, if only all GP practices were as good!
