Excellent care delivered by first class doctors. The surgery appointments system feels like it has been designed to delay or prevent patients from seeing a doctor. Whenever I have tried to make an appointment to see my doctor I have been told that the doctor is unavailable for a week. The receptionist will then try to persuade me to see a nurse and when pushed will agree to a doctor telephone consultation the next day. The reception staff will arrange an earlier appointment provided it is urgent, the problem with this approach is that like many people I don't like to declare any medical problem urgent unless it is an emergency in which case I suppose I should attend the hospital. I believe surgery reception staff should facilitate a welcoming easy appointment system so that patients are seen and treated quickly.
