the triage system often requires two appointment visits to get to see a person who can deal with the presented problem and can lead to extended time scales, people with chronic conditions usually know when they need to see a doctor and do not need to have a treble check on their need. Also they often have to arrange transport and or carers when they go out to have to do that twice is an increased burden that may dissuade them from timely contact and lead to an acute case costing far more in time, money and quality of life.
