I fear patients have become statistics, numbers, especially older patients like myself and object, especially when we are very mentally active, I have the feeling sometimes that I am being treated like an imbecile, when in fact I am still a practising musician recording engineer and pro photographer with 70 years experience. I am not going to lay down and die, but feel that sometimes Doctors wish that I would and alleviate the necessity of NHS spending money on me when it could be spent more "wisely" on younger people. I am still practising my skills, and although it is felt by many I should "act my age" it is this fact that keeps me alive and quite well considering my age. I do not feel comfortable with my registered Dr in the practise and have asked the practice manage on three occasions for a different Doctor of my choice, this would allow me to select a doctors appointment. when necessary on line instead of phoning to make an appointment with any Doctor that is available. My request has been ignored.
