I am pleased with recent changes. The new pod is good and having Ultrasounds on site is helpful for folks with disabilities. Reminder texts etc are useful. My experience at the East Cliff practice has not been a good one and is well documented. Some problems are due to lack of money, time and staff but my personal difficulties have been with getting an appointment with my named GP and frequently being unable to get an appointment for my on going chronic medical needs. My meds have only been reviewed on my insistence. I have found it impossible to get meds prescribed by the hospital that are not on my repeat prescription and on two occasions have gone without my meds for 5 days. East Cliff practice doesn't seem to have as many GPs as the other practices in the consortium/ group and seems to always rely on the backup of a locum. People with complex medical needs really should be seen by the same GP as far as possible. My biggest complaint has been in the past when I have not been listened to by one particular GP which led to me being inaccurately being diagnosed missing my real condition. I am now suffering terribly because of this and my condition has worsened because of the delay in correct diagnosis. The booking system for appointments doesn't work online or if you arrive at the surgery first thing as there as not enough available appointments. It is virtually impossible to get an appointment if you ring at 8am and by 8.15 all slots have gone. Not sure how this can be improved unless another permanent GP was employed.
