I am feeling very let down with how my issues of my problem is on going plus I have to fight to get my son his flu jab .he at risk group .but since Doctor Eldred left .my son has learning and speech difficulties plus global delay .plus other problem. And was told to have these jab which in his notes. and was ask if Nigel could write to say I can speak for him which i have always done . he has his jabs every year same time as me .he get very stress which as his Carer and mum I have trouble keep him calm he not been to the doctor for a while covid 19 has made him worst he hands are red where he washes in very hot water and he had uti in last couple week . to be told to ring back its a night mare to get though every day is the same every day this is a let down .one other thing is no window are open in the surgery or in doctor room .which they should be some doctor eat garlic and the smell in the room is bad sorry but i just have to say fresh air is needed not being funny. but covid 19 stop face to face appointment they do have ONE DAY face to face .I have been with this surgery since 1984 and my son sine he was born 1990 its don't feel like family doctor any more i need to say this

Suggested improvements

Response from East Cliff Practice

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry that you feel we are no longer meeting your needs. The pandemic has and continues to place significant pressure on the NHS. Demand for appointments has increased since the pandemic but we only have the same number of doctors and nurses. This article on the BBC News website highlights some of the challenges we face. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-57229848 Thanet in particular faces greater challenge due to a shortage of doctors and nurses. https://theisleofthanetnews.com/2021/04/19/fragile-gp-system-needs-more-help-as-thanet-struggles-with-low-number-of-doctors/ Under normal circumstances the windows are open in the surgery to allow fresh air flow. For certain clinics such as audiology appointments it may be necessary for the windows to be closed to avoid noise disruption during an examination. Your son is eligible for the flu vaccination and he can be seen at the same time as you. Flu vaccine delivery had been delayed this year but we now have stock and we are starting to offer appointments. As you acknowledge Covid 19 has made it hard for the surgery and it is certainly not the fault of patients but it is also not the fault of surgery staff who continue to work hard and do our best to continue to provide care under increasingly difficult circumstances.
