I have been a patient at DRS for over 14 years. During this period I have been treated with nothing but complete courtesy, professionalism and where appropriate empathy. I do not take coming to see my GP lightly, (Dr Knight) I know he's a very busy overworked professional. I therefore do not ask to see him unless I feel it is absolutely necessary, I use the NHS website or 111. However, this morning out of desperation (and my other half!!) I called the surgery - NEW SYSTEM, I spent 20 minutes waiting on the phone, under normal circumstances I would have hung up. Then when completely frustrated I managed to speak to a human being and was given the 3rd degree on what was wrong before finally getting an appointment. I think I understand and sympathise with the situation and lack of personnel in the NHS but I do not think this procedure is the answer. I just felt that the new system was there as a barrier, in the hope that I would give up and not bother.
I have moved from another surgery and I must say that I was a bit daunted at the prospect of new doctors etc. However I have been pleasantly surprised at the attitude of the reception staff, nurses, nurse practitioners and doctors. All have been caring and professional and extremely pleasant. It has been a good move for me and I can't say thank you enough to the surgery staff
All the doctors here are amazing, I’ve seen them all at one time or another. I’m most impressed with their online services though. I put in a request at 7.45am online for antibiotics, for a recurring issue I have, and within 15 minutes I receive a text saying a prescription for antibiotics would be at my local chemist later today. I can’t thank them enough!
