Tried to register but a council tax bill was not proof of address as it was over two months old (sent out once a year) After great debate it was accepted. I was then told to go and sit down and fill out the form and bring it back up when complete. Once I completed the form I took it back to the receptionist. I put the form in front of her nobody else was at the desk. She looked up and told me to go away as she was on the phone. Both her tone and manner were abrupt and dis curteous. Another woman stood behind added that I was to wait until called due to patient confidentiality. As I am in my mid 40's I don't believe that being scolded like a child is the way to be treated. I waited where I was told which was again in ear shot of the other receptionist who was also on the phone, strange as waiting by one receptionist is at risk of breaching patient confidentiality, but not the other. Anyway when the receptionist had finished with her phone call she took my form and checked to see if I had filled it out correctly. She then informed me that I would have to give a urine sample. Unfortunately this was not going to happen, so she told me that I couldn't register. I haven't visited a doctor for over 5 years as my mother is a doctor and I try to resolve things with a phone call and a visit too a chemist. But from what I can remember from my previous visit. I registered and was given an appointment and told to bring a urine sample on my return for a examination. Maybe time are changing but they are changing for the worst. I know that people go to doctors for any little sniff or cough, but I just want to be able to have a doctor near to my home that I can call on in an emergency and not feel like I'm bothering somebody. If you are looking for that try else where, the doctors might be very good here but getting through the stern faced receptionist might be just to much
