This surgery has many dedicated members. The doctors whom I met have been very proficient, knowledgeable and friendly. The reception staff have been always very helpful. The surgery as a whole is well run and clean. This is a surgery that makes me proud of the NHS.
I have been a patient at Crown Street for over four years, and during that time have had outstanding service from reception staff, nurses and doctors. On one occasion when I was so ill that I had to be immediately referred to hospital the staff couldn't have done more - or been more kind. This is, in my view, an extremely well run practice and I feel fortunate to be a patient there.
I tend to make any appointments in person. However, whilst waiting at reception, I cannot but notice the huge volume of calls that the reception staff are dealing with. Some of those calls appear to be time consuming and a number appear to be non-urgent and non-medical matters. The workload on reception staff appears to be overwhelming and yet, they execute their task in a pleasant, polite and professional manner.
A suggestion - perhaps having a rigid rule that non-medical matter will on be dealt with at a specific time/day(s) - a time when the volume of calls is lower than early mornings.
My husband took my 4 year old son to see Dr Kenny as an emergency. My son had an infection in his penis and as well as offering advice for the medical problem we were particularly impressed that he also spoke to my son about personal safety and consent. As they left he even mentioned that my son's cycle helmet needed tightening to be safe. The GPs go more than the extra mile and provide all round care for their patients - this is just one example but we have experienced this time and time again at Crown Street. I highly recommend this Surgery.
They are really helpful and nice
