I haven’t seen a doctor for a good few years because of the barriers put up by at least one of the receptionists who overrode an urgent referral from another medical professional saying she didn’t take any notice of them. I would have accepted a months wait had a doctor spoken to me but I felt an unqualified receptionist had no place to make those decisions and it was hugely stressful for me. I never did get to see that doctor! I have recently tried to make an appointment for a routine issue and it’s a months wait and again I was spoken to in an abrasive manner with total lack of empathy and with barriers put up even to access a nurse. She made me phone back later with more researched information that the second receptionist didn’t even ask for. I am now totally put off trying to make an appointment here and fortunately I’m a healthy 70 year old but I’m not sure where the future lies.
