I am very upset with my treatment over the phone today. I rang for help and advice about how quickly I might be able to get my medication because I am feeling wheezy and was told that in future I should order my medicines in advance! For someone who is already feeling unwell and has realised that they should have done this earlier, this attitude didn't help, in fact it heightened my breathlessness. There was no consideration or care given, no positive action that could be done. The prescription would be signed off when the doctor could get to it at the end of surgery and that was that. When I pushed a bit more, she said end of morning surgery but couldn't give a time. I understand doctors are busy and if the receptionist had said it would be done as soon as possible and not later than a certain time, then that would have been more acceptable but to be told off and told it would be done later is not good enough when someone is feeling unwell. I don't call the surgery very often and I really would have hoped for kinder treatment. I am shocked by this.
