Had a gastroscopy nearly two months ago,, this was a two week referral, still haven’t had the results. After five weeks I phoned the surgery and asked if they had received them and they said no. I asked if they could chase them for me and was told to phone the hospital. I did and had to leave a message, to date no response. I rang the surgery again and it rang for 15 minutes and 19 seconds, no answer so I emailed. I received a call today from the surgery and the lady told me they have so many new people on their books they are “too busy” and don’t do that. So a test is useless if you can’t obtain the results. All she was interested in was box ticking to say I didn’t want to see the doctor, what is the point if he hasn’t got the results? Also it would be taking an appointment from someone who needs to see the doctor.
I was impressed that I was sent on a two week referral but it is pointless if they will not chase the results after nearly two months.
