Wow! I have attended this surgery since I was registered as a baby 33 years ago. It has progressively gotten worse over the years - in my early 20's my health wasn't an issue and nor the health of my family therefore my main concerns was not being able to see a doctor for 10 days when I had a sinus infection. It is a regular topic of conversation within my friends and family circle - "How many times did you have to ring before the rudest receptionist asked you personal questions about why you wanted to see a Dr?" Or "I was in the surgery today and the phone was ringing for 10 minutes straight whilst the receptionists tucked into a box of quality streets. However now I am in my 30s my families and my own need to speak to a GP has changed. Recently my mum called for an EMERGENCY steroid as she was unwell with a flare up of her underlying medical condition. The EMERGENCY steroid would not be ready for 24 hours - 5 hrs later my mum died. Clifton Street JOKE SHOP then called the next day to let us know her steroid was ready to be picked up. Here we are 6 weeks after my mums death, the 27th of November 2018 to be exact. I have just called the surgery for an appointment with the Dr to be told they are booked out for the WHOLE month of December. There are no appointments until January 2019 and they have not yet opened that diary. So if I need to see the Dr, I can go join a queue at 8am outside the surgery - doors open at 9am---and I can be called anytime between 9:30am - lunchtime GREAT! A surgery in North Belfast that continues to take on new patients for more money when they CAN NOT service the patients that they already have. It is an absolute joke that a surgery in NORTH BELFAST, an area with the highest suicide rates, are comfortable with their front line staff, nosey jumped up receptionist stopping them form seeing a Dr. Honestly, there is more chance of seeing Santa than seeing a Dr in Clifton St Surgery.
